Distribution company for TV18 and Viacom18, IndiaCast, is launching a family quiz show Brain Wagon in the Middle East. Conceptualised and produced by The Magic Box FZ LLE, the show is set to premiere on Colors TV ME on Sunday, 23 September at 7:30 pm UAE time.
This show has been designed to engage the entire family – both for participation and viewership, the release stated.
Commenting on the new programme, Sachin Gokhale, Business Head- Middle East & Africa and Head of Business Operations and Corporate Strategy for International Business at IndiaCast, said: “Over the past few years, we have seen our local content initiatives resonating well and proving to be extremely popular with our audiences in the Middle East. Brain Wagon is one more such fun and unique concept- which targets and aims to involve the entire family. Given the universal nature of the contest, the fun and informal setting, and the presence of a much-loved celebrity host like Cyrus Sahukar, we are sure this show will be much enjoyed by the entire base of our South Asian family audiences.”
This first-of-a-kind format on a South Asian TV channel will have families as participants battling it out in a series of challenging mind games with each passing episode. The participants will consist of an adult and a child (8-12 years) making up a team to challenge another team over tasks revolving around general knowledge, science, math, bollywood, world knowledge along with cognitive-based games. The 30 shortlisted teams will get on a 10-week knowledge battle challenging each other’s prowess over various subjects and winning prizes every episode.
Elaborating on the concept, Zainab Ali Poonawala, Executive Director of The Magic Box LLE said: “We are delighted to be continuing our association with IndiaCast and Colors TV ME after our successful past collaborations on prior projects like Checkmate. Brain Wagon is a very unique concept and the first ever of its kind to be aired in this region. We are confident that this show will bring forth fun family entertainment which will involve young and old alike; given that it is built on a shared interest and awareness about our world and knowledge of basic sciences and math. We look forward to the show launching and having a very successful run on Colors TV ME.”
