The lift-off of Egyptian satellite EgyptSat-A carrier rocket Soyuz-2.1 b, developed by Russia’s Energia Rocket & Space Corporation, has been postponed to 21 February, according to reports in Russian media. It was initially postponed from this month to February 7, 2019 by Energia.
The delay is said to be related to prolonged tests by Energia to prevent the same mishap that plagued Egypt’s 2015 launch.
“The launch of Soyuz 2.1b carrier rocket with Fregat upper stage and EgyptSat-A satellite has been delayed from February 7 until February 21. The time remains unchanged – 19:47 Moscow time [16:47 GMT],” according to a report in Sputnik.
