Satellite encryption revoked for AGL football matches

The UAE government has revoked satellite encryption for the Arabian Gulf League and President Cup matches to allow for free-to-air live broadcast of matches.

Expressing his appreciation, His Excellency Abdullah Naser Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Pro League Committee, said the decision will open the door for fans to watch matches at no additional cost.

Al Junaibi spoke of the decision as testament to the UAE’s attention to sports and fans across the country, stressing that the decision will allow football fans inside and outside the country to follow the league, thus increasing the popularity of the competition.
