Enhanced precision video coax cables for SDI, HD-SDI, 1080P/50-60 and 3D-HD apps
Belden has introduced a range of new products and innovations for professional broadcast applications. Designed for the perfect capturing, live or post production processing, routing and delivery of content, all Belden solutions offer top performance and high reliability to meet the specific requirements of even the most demanding technological constraints of time and mission critical applications such as news or sports broadcasting in high definition (HD) video.
One of Beldens key new applications is the Brilliance 1794A Precision Video Coax Cable – the first cable designed specifically to meet the requirements of emerging 1080p/60 (in U.S.), 1080p/50 (in EU) 3 Gigabit applications. Brilliance 1794A Precision Digital Video Cable features the same high-velocity core as 1694A and has an enhanced Belden Duobond® shield for the ultimate in shield effectiveness. The new, slightly larger (14 AWG) cable design improves on the distance performance of 1694A (at 16AWG), providing 1080p/50-60 distance of 314 feet (96 meters) when calculated with the SMPTE distance formula.
Also new is the Brilliance 1694WB Precision Digital Video Cable, an ultra-rugged version of 1694A, which for many in the professional broadcast arena has become the industry standard for SDI video applications.
Designed for use in outdoor and direct burial applications, the cables feature a gel-filled, water blocking layer and hard black polyethylene jacket to provide effective weather resistance and protection against any ingress of moisture. This added protection makes the cables ideally suited for use at golf tournaments, outdoor sports events, and under-water location shooting.
Another expansion of the Brilliance 1694-range is the new Belden Brilliance 1694D Precision Digital Video Cable is a dual camera version of 1694A comprised of two 1694A coaxes within a single construction. The dual cables are ideal for use in dual link 1080p/50-60 applications, as well as for all SDI, HD-SDI, 3D and 3D-HD applications.
Belden 7804E SMPTE311 HD Camera Assembly is available as standard put-up and has bend-insensitive fiber. The updated and enhanced SMPTE311 fiber cable family enjoys now a new bend-insensitive fiber (ITU G.657A) which makes it especially useful for low temperature applications thanks to improved micro and macro bending until -70°C.
