Hermes Datacomms has completed the installation of a multi-site 4 mbps C-Band SkyWire cloud for a major oilfield services company in Libya, only five days after the contract was signed.
Glynn Wagg, country manager, Libya, explains, ” The contract was signed and the system was installed by the engineering team from Tripoli just five days later. The client chose Hermes not only because of our proven track record in delivering reliable, efficient and cost effective comms solutions but also because we are now fully operational in Libya and are able to respond quickly to customers VSAT requirements. As the oil and gas industry is starting to re-establish operations in Libya following the Civil uprising, companies require communication systems with immediate effect. Hermes’ Regional Branch in Tripoli, 24/7 service and support and local engineers are all well equipped to answer these demands”.
The VSAT system is providing the client with connectivity for their Headquarters in Tripoli, enabling them to re-establish office connections.
Glynn Wagg continues, “The majority of oil and gas companies were interfered with during the past few months and equipment and links will have to be reconnected, The Libyan situation has affected their business dramatically. Hermes Regional Office in Tripoli was not damaged, stock systems are ready for business and our satellite links are ready immediately”
