The company develops and markets a range of IP streaming solutions that allow organisations to stream live video securely.
Mobile Viewpoint will be showcasing a range of live streaming solutions at CABSAT 2020 from March 31 to April 2, including its artificial intelligence (AI) enhanced VPilot and IQ Sports Producer products. These products can be utilised by a range of corporate, TV production and public safety organisations to reduce the cost and complexity of live streaming.
Mobile Viewpoint focusses on development and implementation of IP transmission solutions for both the broadcast and security industries. By using 3G, 4G, and increasingly 5G networks, along with Wi-Fi, ethernet and satellite connections, Mobile Viewpoint’s solutions allow companies to create and publish live video with reduced latency.
VPilot is an automated studio that allows customers to create live video programming within a newsroom or interview situation with multiple people without the need for production teams. It uses AI analysis of multiple inputs to completely automate the camera control, content creation and distribution process. VPilot is aimed at journalists, bloggers, radio shows and event organisers hosting panel discussions.
The IQ Sports Producer is a fully automated, all-in-one production suite aimed specifically at the sports markets. IQ Sports Producer consists of fixed position 180° 4K cameras that can cover an entire field of play and utilizes AI to track both player and ball movements with options for additional cameras to enhance the viewing experience.
Specifically, tracking the movement of a ball ensures that a goal is never missed and enhances the accuracy of coverage. IQ Sports Producer can be used to capture content and live stream games, effectively allowing sports clubs to own their content.
The company will also showcase BaseLink at CABSAT 2020 which is a mobile encoder that uses bonded fixed, WiFi, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile network connections to transmit live video.
BaseLink supports H.265 and H.264 encoding and transmits live video up to 1080p60—delivering a fast, high-quality video experience. It has four integrated 4G modems which can be upgraded to support six 4G modems. BaseLink is a low-cost solution that delivers the highest quality mobile video possible— regardless of location.
Another product on display will be DataLink, which is a portable internet hotspot, giving broadcasters and content producers a high bandwidth internet connection anywhere in the world.
Supporting up to 200Mbit of data bonding, as well as four mobile networks—including LAN and Wi-Fi—via its built-in modems, DataLink uses the bonded bandwidth of all available IP connections simultaneously to provide enormous upload speeds. DataLink is housed in aluminium casing and can be managed via the unit’s touchscreen.
Apart from this, Mobile Viewpoint will have their multicamera production units, such as the WMT AirLink and the TerraLink-4C Remote on display on the stand. With these encoders broadcasters and content producers can support multi-camera remote production from a motorcycle or car, delivering a truly mobile, live production set up—ideal for live news broadcasting and live sports events.
Commenting on the products on display, Michel Bais, CEO of Mobile Viewpoint, said: “Given how video is now consumed on a range of different platforms, companies wanting to differentiate themselves want the ability to create and publish move live video content and the associated highlights. But video isn’t always a specialist area for those that have video assets—sports clubs, for example, are more focussed on the fitness and performance of their players. Which means they’re looking to capture and deliver video content in a way that is as easy and affordable. This is true of many companies and organizations who are looking for a slice of the video pie. We are excited to exhibit again at CABSAT 2020 with our leading solutions that can remove the high cost and complexity of producing and delivering video content.”
Mobile Viewpoint customers include broadcasters such as BBC News, Al-Arabiya, Sky Sports News, NBC Sports, and government and emergency services sector organisations like New York Fire Department, Malaysian Highway Patrol, Dutch Federal and Military Police, Traffic Control the Netherlands (VID).
