Malmo Arab Film Festival (MAFF) will be taking place in Sweden from 28 September to 5 October 2012. This is the largest film festival in Scandinavia, specifically targeted at films from the Arab region.
During the course of 8 days, there will be 45 films from Arab filmmakers screened, plus many seminars, parties and industry events.
The festival, which also took place in 2011, is a cultural event for the purpose of promoting and understanding between the Arabic-speaking and other ethnic groups living in Sweden. MAFF provides a platform for meetings between Arabic and Swedish filmmakers with the intent to promote integration.
MAFF is dependent on governmental and nongovernmental grants and donations from Scandinavia and beyond.
Membership to the festival costs 15 USD.
