TAHOMA-MultiCaster combines the functionality of a Multiviewer, 16×4 or 16×8 routing switcher for the Multiviewer, up/down/cross converter and associated 16×1 router, audio routing switcher, and an audio embedder.
In most cases, it would take five racks of equipment and five times the amount of investment for a mobile van or broadcast facility to incorporate this kind of functionality. The TAHOMA-MultiCaster incorporates these five functions into a single 1RU device. Its compact size and cost-effective approach are ideal for space restricted applications such as ENG and SNG trucks.
The Multi-viewer auto-detects incoming 3G, HD, or SD-SDI video signals, and provides on-screen monitoring of 16 channels of embedded audio per SDI input, as well as 4 channels of discrete audio per SDI input.
The built-in router provides enhanced access to HD-SDI or SD-SDI inputs for multi-image viewing, and with dynamic assignment or by simply recalling presets, a user can quickly assign sources to up to three different displays, or display the video sources more than once.
Regardless of the input (HD, or SD), signal conversion occurs automatically based upon whether the router outputs are set for SD or HD.
The integrated audio router supports discrete analog and AES audio inputs and the audio embedder lets users embed analog or AES audio into the 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals.
This five-feature architecture provides advanced flexibility for visually monitoring signals, and simplifies installation, maintenance, and cabling.
