Deluxe Media has partnered with Ateme for the creation of encoding configurations for feature films and episodic television catalogue to be made available on UHDTV sets. The new offering relies on the HEVC video decoding capabilities that UHD television manufacturers build into their sets. Deluxe Media prepares catalogue of 4K UHD titles from multiple major Hollywood studios in order to support upcoming VOD and physical format service launches. Ateme will help Deluxe to create UHD compression masters for distribution.
Deluxe Media and ATEME engaged in a series of picture quality tests with Hollywood majors for high fidelity when encoding 4K titles with HEVC main and main 10 profiles.
“We chose to partner with ATEME for its picture quality in HEVC and the interoperability of its streams with internal television decoders,” Steve Kochak, Vice President of Engineering for Deluxe Media.
