Neuron is WheatNet IP compatible and has smart settings for exponentially enhancing control settings to create a signature sound in minutes, not days or hours.
Wheatstone is set to introduce its Neuron FM/HD/DAB+ spectral audio processor at NAB Show 2025.
Neuron’s spectral processing approach is designed to revitalise radio and attract more listeners in a rapidly evolving audio landscape with increasing delivery choices and listening devices. The processor employs a patented 1/3 octave band resolution to precisely control transient peaks without affecting critical frequencies. This allows for increased energy in the audio signal while maintaining peak compliance, resulting in a richer and more vibrant on-air sound.
The advanced spectral processor features proprietary Density Compensation algorithms, which provide real-time analysis of pre- and post-processed audio. By factoring in user control settings, it ensures seamless spectral balance and consistent programme density across diverse audio content.
Neuron FM/HD/DAB+ also includes essential features such as pre-emphasis optimisation, multipath mitigation, an RDS/RBDS generator, SCA and stereo generator and Wheatstone baseband192 technology for digitising the multiplex spectrum.
Designed for compatibility with WheatNet-IP, Neuron offers smart settings that significantly enhance control functions, allowing broadcasters to craft a signature sound in minutes rather than hours or days.
Attendees of NAB 2025 can experience the Neuron FM/HD/DAB+ spectral audio processor firsthand at Wheatstone’s booth.
