Produced by Netflix and Skydance Media in association with Bay Films, "6 Underground" was shot in Abu Dhabi.
Netflix released lists of its most popular content on Monday, according to which many American shows and local-language content were the most popular in Asian countries, with Michael Bay’s 6 Underground the only title being the top hit in all territories.
The list was based on the number of accounts that watched at least two minutes of a film or TV show within the first 28 days of their release on the platform.
In Japan, the film stood at third position while in South Korea, it was ranked second. In Malaysia, the Ryan Reynolds-starrer topped the list while in India, 6 Underground was ranked eighth.
Twofour54 Abu Dhabi worked closely with the 6 Underground production team, and provided full production services, including location assistance, securing permits and suppliers, as well as catering, accommodation and travel.
The film benefited from Abu Dhabi’s talented media professionals and freelancers with more than 200 local crew working across all facets of the production including casting, set construction, costume design, production and SFX.
6 Underground marked the return of Netflix to Abu Dhabi, which filmed War Machine, starring Brad Pitt, in the Emirate in 2015.
