This award is the latest addition to the film's string of awards which include the Silver Alexander Award from Thessaloniki Film Festival, and the Best Arab Feature Film Award at El Gouna Film Festival.
Palestinian film Thank You for Banking With Us was named the Best Feature Film in the Jury Competition at the 12th Ajyal Film Festival 2024, presented by Doha Film Institute.
Laila Abbas, the film’s director, thanked the festival organiser’s for screening the film at the festival, and the positive feedback she received from audiences. Additionally, she mentioned the difficulties they faced while making the film. For instance, most of the usual crew roles were not available in Palestine; thus, she had to import equipment and crew from abroad.
Thank You for Banking With Us has won multiple awards, including, Silver Alexander Award from Thessaloniki Film Festival in Greece, and the Best Arab Feature Film Award at El Gouna Film Festival.
The film is a co-production between Shahinaz Al-Akkad’s Lagoonie Film Productions, Palestine Cinema Days founder and artistic director Hanna Atallah and Ronza Kamel, through August Films, as well as Roshanak Behesht Nedjad’s In Good Company Films.
