The Tunisian-Italian film A Bird From Paradise will have its global premiere at the 12th edition of the Oran International Arab Film Festival in Algeria, which runs from the October 4 until 10, 2024. The film is an adaptation of the novel La Marmite d’Ayoubby authored by Mohamed Redha Ben Hamouda. It is written and directed by Mourad Ben Cheikh, produced by Habib Attia, Silvia Innocenzi, and Giovanni Saulini for Alfa Multimedia and Cinetel Film.
The romantic comedy narrates the experiences of Amadeus, an Italian antique dealer who falls in love with a Tunisian girl. After the couple marries and elopes to Tunisia, they encounter several situations that test the power of their love. Elaborating upon the theme of the film, Ben Cheikh said: “This social and cultural comedy creates a space for interaction between the North and the South, allowing us to laugh together at ourselves, far from all the tragedies that tend to divide us.”
Worldwide sales for A Bird from Paradise are being handled by MAD World, while its sales and distribution across the Arab world are being managed by MAD Distribution.
