The world premiere of A Nose and Three Eyes by Amir Ramsis unfolded last week at the Red Sea International Film Festival in the presence of the film’s esteemed cast, crew members, and a gathering of celebrities, public figures, and press. Notable attendees included renowned actors Dhafer El Abdin and Salma Abu Deif, director of photography Ahmed Gabr, director Amir Ramsis, scriptwriter Wael Hamdy, and the film’s producers Shahinaz El Akkad from Lagoonie Film Production and Amanda Turnbull of Rise Studios.
The red carpet event also saw the presence of elite actors such as Ahmed Dawood, Ola Roshdy, Amir El Masry, Sawsan Badr, Hala Sarhan, Asmaa Galal, Mohamed Al Sharnouby, Dorra Zarrouk, and Elham Shahin.
A Nose and Three Eyes is a modern adaptation of Ihsan Abdel-Quddous’ novel of the same name, originally adapted into a feature film in 1972. Produced by Lagoonie Film Production in association with Rise Studios, the film is set to release later this year, following its world premiere as part of the RedSeaIFF’s Arab Spectacular Programme.
The storyline revolves around Doctor Hashem, a renowned plastic surgeon in his mid-40s who, despite two long-term relationships, remains single. However, when he encounters Ruba, a woman 25 years his junior, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to her charms, navigating the complexities of their age gap.
Directed by Amir Ramsis and written by Wael Hamdy, the film features an ensemble cast, including Dhaffer L’Abidine, Saba Mubarak, Salma Abudeif, Sedky Sakhr, Gihan El-Shamashergy, Nora Cheichaa, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Nabil Maher, Selim Mostafa, Amina Khalil as a guest of honour, and child celebrity Selim Mostafa, who captured hearts in the role of Younis in WHY NOT?
