iPhone users can now access their favourite Abu Dhabi Radio Network (ADRN) stations including Abu Dhabi Classic FM, Star FM, Quran Kareem, Emarat FM and Abu Dhabi FM, thanks to a recently-launched iPhone application.
The new iPhone app – free through the Apps store on iTunes – offers listeners live streaming of each of the five radio stations, as well as the option of playing the radio in the background while browsing the internet or checking emails.
AbdulRahman Awadh Al Harthi, Director of ADRN, said: Offering our listeners multiple ways to stay tuned to our stations, whether listening to conventional radio at home or in the car, online streaming or through their phones, is simply ADRN adapting its offer in direct response to rapidly changing consumer behavior.
He added: With each adult in the UAE now owning a minimum of two mobile phones, the iPhone is becoming an increasingly popular method of content delivery, so streaming our radio content to iPhone users is a logical extension of our broadcast services.
The application also specifically addresses Quran Kareem listeners by offering prayer alerts and times for each of the Emirates. Users can also click through to each stations website for added interactivity and to participate in competitions live on air.
ADRN, the only radio network that covers the entire UAE and part of Abu Dhabi Media Company, has five radio stations, each catering to different cultures and audience profiles, from classical music through to religion. It has recently started streaming its most popular radio programmes on www.adradio.ae.
