A total of nine Korean films across various genres showcasing stories themed around family life and society will be screened as part of the festival.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea will be hosting the Korean Film Festival 2022 at Vox Cinemas, Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi, from June 29 to July 3.
Each of the nine films will be screened under the theme “Family on Screen”.
All films will be in Korean with English subtitles, except the opening title, Escape from Mogadishu, which will have English and Arabic subtitles.
Speaking on the film festival, Nam Chan-woo, Director of Korean Cultural Center, said: “I believe the audiences from various backgrounds in the UAE will feel sympathised with the Korean Film Festival themed Family on Screen because stories about love, conflict, and healing within a family are a universal story being told around the world.”
Entry to the Korean Film Festival is priced at AED 21 ($5.72) and pre-booking is available online at Korean Film Festival 2022.
Selected for their messages around reminding audiences on the value and meaning of family, movie buffs can enjoy films like Miracle: Letters to the President, Kim Ji-young, Born 1982, Granny Poetry Club, House of Hummingbird, The House of Us and Sinkhole.
