The initiative aims to serve as a platform for aspiring filmmakers to learn about various aspects of cinematic filmmaking from industry stalwarts.
Advanced Media unveiled the Arabic edition of its biannual community digital cinema event, CINESeason at the first Saudi Film Confex held in Riyadh from October 1 to 4, 2023. The initiative aims to provide aspiring filmmakers, content creators and cinema enthusiasts with a comprehensive learning experience in various aspects of cinematic filmmaking, and the opportunity to join industry experts in discussing the latest technologies, trends and solutions in digital cinema, broadcast, and video.
Spanning two days, CINESeason was held from October 6 to 7, 2023 and comprised four workshops helmed by cinematographer Fouad Aoun, editor Mostafa Salah and photography director Ayman Abou el Makarem. Over 50 participants attended each workshop, where the instructors shared insights from their respective fields. CINESeason also gave participants the opportunity to interact directly with the Advanced Media team in Riyadh.
Going forward, Advanced Media plans to increase frequency and range of such workshops and events, along with product launches, in Saudi Arabia. These initiatives are in line with the company’s goals to develop, organise, and host community events that raise awareness among consumers about the latest technological advances in cinema. In 2024, Advanced Media will launch its CINETomorrow initiative that will run from January 11 to 13 in Dubai.
At the Saudi Confex, the brodcast and cinematic equipment distributor showcased its latest products while engaging with prominent figures from the industry. Its booth had an average daily footfall of 150 visitors comprising filmmakers, rental houses, producers, content creators, film students and brand representatives.
Speaking at the event, Alaa Al Rantisi, Advanced Media’s co-founder and managing director remarked: “The Saudi market is young, vibrant, and very eager to learn. The Kingdom is investing a lot of resources to create such opportunities for this demographic. It is our responsibility to do our part. We do that by showcasing the latest in
media technology at exhibitions and by organizing workshops and seminars that give them a chance to strengthen their skills and gain new ones.”
