This initiative enables AMT to lower its emissions by 30% using Sustainable Aviation Fuel, a renewable energy source derived from sustainable materials that replaces traditional jet fuel.
Advanced Media Trading (AMT), the distributor of professional video, photo, broadcast, and cinema equipment and accessories in the MENA region, has joined forces with DHL Express UAE, an international express logistics provider, to cut logistics-related carbon emissions through the DHL GoGreen Plus initiative. This partnership aligns with Advanced Media’s commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
The official signing took place at Advanced Media’s Dubai headquarters. The agreement was signed by Jawad Ouaziz, VP Commercial of DHL Express UAE, and Alaa Al Rantisi, General Manager of Advanced Media.
As part of this collaboration, Advanced Media will adopt DHL’s GoGreen Plus service, utilising Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to lower its carbon footprint in shipping. This initiative will reduce AMT’s aviation-related emissions by 30% by replacing conventional jet fuel with a renewable alternative, advancing the company’s journey toward net-zero emissions.
Since 2021, the company has cut its Solid Waste Landfilled GHG emissions by 25%, through strategic partnerships with waste management firms that specialise in recycling plastic, paper and steel, as well as food composting.
In addition, AMT has implemented a near-total ban on plastic bottles and bags in compliance with Federal mandates. Regular awareness initiatives have further contributed to its waste reduction efforts.
Speaking about the collaboration, Jawad Ouaziz, VP Commercial of DHL Express UAE, said: “This partnership exemplifies how innovative logistics solutions can contribute to a more sustainable future. With DHL’s GoGreen Plus service, we are empowering Advanced Media to actively reduce its carbon footprint and set a benchmark for sustainability in the media industry.”
Alaa Al Rantisi, General Manager of Advanced Media, added: “Our partnership with DHL’s GoGreen Plus is another important milestone towards Advanced Media’s commitments to carbon reduction and climate action. We hope that this marks the beginning of our sustainable journey together and we serve as an example to other SMEs in the region as well.”
DHL’s GoGreen Plus programme, launched in 2022, is an initiative that utilises SAF to reduce Scope 3 emissions—indirect greenhouse gas emissions within a company’s supply chain. Unlike traditional carbon offsetting, this programme is based on a carbon in-setting principle, ensuring measurable reductions verified by an independent third party. Advanced Media will receive an SGS certificate confirming the emissions reductions achieved through this initiative.
DHL Express UAE’s commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 is reinforced by its broader sustainability efforts, including fleet electrification, expanded SAF use in aviation and the operation of carbon-neutral facilities.
