Based in London, Nash will become a member of the EMEA leadership team, reporting directly to Dean Possenniskie, Managing Director at A+E EMEA.
A+E Networks EMEA has named Philip Nash as its Chief Finance Officer, succeeding Mark Neil, who is set to take on the CFO role at Sky Showtime after seven years with the company. Nash will take up his new position on January 15, 2024.
Nash brings a wealth of experience in finance, transformation, and integration roles within the international media, sports, and tech sectors. Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director at Eleven Sports Network, overseeing the group finance team and seven divisional FDs across the US, Europe, and Asia during a period of high revenue growth and business transition. The merger of Eleven Sports Network with DAZN in 2023 resulted in the creation of the world’s leading live sports streaming service. Prior to this, Nash held the position of CFO at Liverpool FC, where he played a crucial role in the financial planning for the Anfield ground transformation, following his role as Financial Director for the construction of the new Arsenal Stadium.
Speaking about the new appointment, Dean Possenniskie, MD, at A+E Networks EMEA, said: “Philip has extensive commercial skills, a deep understanding of our complex media world, and a proven CFO track record in developing and optimizing businesses. I am confident he will continue Mark’s successful work.”
Nash added: “I am delighted to join the A+E EMEA’s exceptional leadership team and to lead A+E EMEA’s finance teams into the future. Having worked at DAZN for the past three years, I am very familiar with the opportunities and challenges ahead – and I am confident of contributing to further growth and success for A+E EMEA.
Based in London, Nash will join the EMEA leadership team and report to Dean Possenniskie. He will hold a dual role as both A+E Networks EMEA CFO and A+E Networks UK CFO. A+E UK, a longstanding joint venture between Hearst and Sky, is part of this new responsibility.
In his dual role, Nash will be responsible for maximising operational and financial efficiency, with a focus on driving growth across all A+E EMEA businesses in collaboration with leaders across the company.
