The UK-based company with offices in London and Lagos, hosts Nollywood films across three channels African Movie Channel (AMC), AMC Series and Nolly Africa. AMCOP will reportedly focus on African storytelling by home-grown talent.
By the end of 2018, AMC that is currently collaborating with Nigerian producers will add around 20 movie titles to its library, as per reports in NextTV News.
Commenting on the launch, the Head of Channels for AMC, Yvonne Dublin-Green, said: The creation of AMCOP has been a long time coming and is a natural progression for AMC. As a global player, it has always been important that the content we create is of superior quality, and we have made sure we partnered with filmmakers, actors and actresses who are of the highest calibre to join us on this journey. We have always been interested is fostering and showcasing African talent, and AMCOP is the perfect opportunity to bring that about.
AMCOP movies will begin to beam every Friday from December 7 exclusively on African Movie Channel.
