Artificial intelligence (AI) may be used to create music in the future for film, advertising and gaming soundtracks and it could potentially evoke different feelings in each listener, according to AIVA Technologies, a European Artificial Intelligence (AI) music composition startup. AIVA and Dubai World Trade Centre collaborated to launch the worlds first AI-composed song Ode to Dubai, which was announced at the 2018 edition of The Internet of Things Expo (IoTX).
Ode to Dubai was unveiled by Pierre Barreau, CEO of AIVA Technologies. The song was created using Artificial Intelligence Virtual Artist (AIVA), which composes original classical scores for film, advertising and gaming soundtracks. The song is based on the algorithms of 30,000 symphonic music scores from historys greatest composers including Mozart, Beethoven and Bach.
Speaking about the music, Barreau said: Two different persons hearing the same music might feel different things and that is why AI-composed music can make people feel something: because the emotions are not in the score. They are created in our brains.
