Egyptian artist Hesham Ali has designed the poster for the seventh edition of AIWFF.
Aswan International Womens Film Festival (AIWFF) has unveiled the poster for its seventh edition, which is scheduled to take place from March 5 to 10, 2023.
AIWFF aims to recognise female achievement in filmmaking and to teach the craft to youth through workshops and screenings. This year, the festival will honour two female filmmakers for their contributions to the film industry.
The poster is designed by Egyptian artist Hisham Ali, who designed the sixth edition’s poster.
The AIWFF poster features a woman draped in cinema tape and adorned with ancient Egyptian accessories.
The woman featured on the poster represents the women of the south in general, as it appears looking to the future with sobriety. The poster indicates how women face all the incidents of the day with strength and dignity.
The seventh edition of AIWFF will also honour veteran Egyptian actress Nabila Ebeid, acclaimed TV presenter Dorria Sharaf Eldin, Tunisian filmmaker Selma Baaccar and Dutch director, screenwriter and producer Mijke De Jong.
