Free to air Al Jazeera Childrens Channel (JCC) has recently enhanced its partnership with BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC. The agreement aims to offer a range of television shows to Arab audiences.
With a range of genres such as natural history, pre-teen content, adventure, comedy and animation, JCC will now be able to offer over 180 hours of new BBC programming.
All programs will be dubbed into classical Arabic and will be broadcast on JCCTV and Baraem TV in early 2013.
Commenting on the deal, Rashed Al Qurese, Acting Director of Sales and Media Rights, JCC said: Both JCC and BBC have a strong tradition of providing quality entertainment to their audiences. This new selection of creative and intelligent series will expand on our schedule of programming that children will love and parents will trust.
Natasha Hussain, Territory Manager Middle East & Africa, BBC Worldwide added: This deal further builds on the relationship we have with Al Jazeera Childrens Channel its great to see some of our exciting live-action drama and documentary content such as MI High and Deadly 60 licensed by the channel for the first time.
Consistent with JCCs content strategy, the shows are based on a stringent selection process that ensures each series is integral to a childs learning process.
