Qatar-based Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN) will be hosting its inaugural Leaders Summit for media professionals, and more specifically, CIOs and CTOs to discuss the future of media and how technology is disrupting the TV, film and digital space. The two-day conference titled The Future of Media Leaders Summit will be held on May 10 and 11 at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Doha, Qatar.
With the Leaders Summit, AJMN hopes to create a platform for industry leaders to gather and gain insight from their peers on critical business and technology issues and their impact on the media industry. The conference is aimed at helping industry professionals drive technology initiatives in the right direction.
The Summit will cover topics that centre around the future of cloud-based media, digital technology, artificial intelligence, big data analytics and the value chain shift as well as the impact of social media integration, among others.
Key participants will include broadcasters as well as representatives from Avid, Microsoft and Cisco. The occasion will also provide attendees with the opportunity to tour Al Jazeera’s new news facility and see how the broadcaster is migrating its news operation to the cloud.
Speaking about the event and its goals, Mohamed Abuagla, CIO/CTO and Executive Director of Al Jazeera Media Network said: This is our first attempt to bring the broadcast community together and welcome professionals on a common platform to discuss technologies that will shape the future of media. We look forward to some engaging sessions and positive networking at the event, and we hope to make this a recurring event.
