The film festival will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the deceased actor.
The 39th edition of the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival will honour the Egyptian actor Tewfik El Dekn, in recognition of his centenary, which will run from October 3-8, 2023, according to Cairo Scene.
El Dekn was known for Amir el-Inteqam (1950), El Fetewa (1957) and Saladin (1963), The Secret of the Hidden Cap, and The Girl of the Hatta. He died on 26 November 1988 in Cairo, Egypt.
The festival will hold a special ceremony, which will be attended by Tewfik El Dekn’s son, Madi El Dekn. The Egyptian Association of Film Writers and Critics will award Madi El Dekn its prestigious shield.
