In addition to this classic approach, Altech Multimedia and Digiturk are targeting the growing converged broadcast and broadband market as the product is designed to be interactive ready with IP capabilities.
Within the next few months Digiturk plans to switch on the implemented HbbTV standard as well as the state of the art opera browser, thus releasing the full potential of the set-top box. It will then be ready to run a growing range of web based applications, including video distribution, this is protected by Play Ready DRM. Making use of adaptive streaming technology adjusting video resolution according to available IP bandwith, Altech multimedias hybrid box will ensure a smooth and uninterrupted user viewing experience.
