At LA Screenings later this month, the division will offer a selection of Amazon Original films and series titles off-platform to MGM’s international distribution partners.
Amazon Studios has announced the launch of Amazon MGM Studios Distribution, a division that will distribute Amazon originals in addition to MGM’s current and library titles, which number more than 4,000 film titles and 17,000 TV episodes.
Chris Ottinger who has led the distribution team at MGM for more than a decade, will head the new division and reports to Brad Beale, VP of worldwide licensing & distribution, Amazon and MGM Studios, who in return reports to Jen Salke, head of Amazon and MGM Studios.
Sales of the new content will launch out of LA Screenings, with Amazon MGM Studios Distribution holding presentations on Friday, May 19 and Monday, May 22 at Amazon Studios’ home in Culver City.
The first batch of Amazon studios titles, which will be made available to MGM distribution partners worldwide, include feature films 7500, All the Old Knives, Bliss, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Coming 2 America, I Want You Back, The Tender Bar, The Tomorrow War, The Voyeurs and Without Remorse and TV series Goliath, Hunters, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. MGM titles span James Bond, Rocky and Creed franchises, and series like The Handmaid’s Tale, Vikings, Fargo and the upcoming Hotel Cocaine from MGM+.
