Awal Film has added 11 diverse groups of individuals to its advisory board.
Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF) has established its first International Advisory Board.
The Board comprises eleven distinguished members of the film industry and the business world, which includes Omar Abu Jaber (businessman), Mohannad Al Bakri (MD of The Royal Film Commission – Jordan), Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat (MD of Jordan Tourism Board), Georges Khabbaz (actor, writer, theatre director and university professor), Lina de Ladoucette (culture and philanthropy consultant), Samer Majali (CEO Royal Jordanian), Rashid Masharawi (director, writer), Saba Mubarak (actress, producer), Yousry Nasrallah (director, writer), Samir (director, producer), and Jihan El Tahri (director, writer, visual artist and producer).
Speaking about the board, Princess Rym Ali, President of the AIFF, said: “With their extensive experience and knowledge of the film industry, international business and the art world, the Board will provide valuable insight and guidance to the festival’s organisers.”
“Our festival is relatively young, but it has already left its mark on the map of international festivals, with its specific focus on first-time achievements, mainly in Arab cinema. It has a character of its own, where quality and support to filmmakers matter above all other considerations”, added Nada Doumani, the festival’s director.
