Egyptian film, Rat Hole, is gearing up for its world premiere at the upcoming Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF), scheduled to run from August 15 to 22.
The red-carpet premiere is slated for August 16 at 8 pm in Taj Cinema 4, with the presence of the film’s director, writer, and producer, Mohamed El-Samman. This event will also be attended by Jordan’s renowned celebrities, members of the press, and notable public figures.
Following the premiere, El-Samman will conduct an exclusive Q&A session with the audience. Here, he’ll delve into behind-the-scenes anecdotes, the challenges encountered during filming, the intricate social themes addressed by the film, and more.
The film will also screen on August 20 at 10 pm at Taj Cinema 3.
The film revolves around a female telemarketer employed by a non-profit organisation, striving to convince individuals to contribute financially to her cause. However, in her pursuit to make ends meet, she’s compelled to compromise her ethical principles, exposing the murky underbelly of the NGO she’s associated with.
Rat Hole spotlights the ordeal of an underpaid female telemarketer grappling with ethical dilemmas while battling financial challenges. The film features the emerging talent Rana Khattab in a leading role.
The cast ensemble also boasts Mohamed Yorka as the manager, alongside Kamal El-Asnawy and Hanan Helmy, among others. Worldwide distribution of the film is being managed by MAD Solutions.
