The event gives audiences a chance to explore independent Arab Cinema.
The second edition of Arab Cinema Week will run at Cinema Akil from October 6 to 15, 2023. Through the power of filmmaking, Arab Cinema Week aims to reflect on key happenings that have shaped the Arab World in the past year such as the Lebanese unrest, the upheaval in Sudan and the Moroccan earthquake.
Following a sold-out first season, the annual event dedicated to Arab independent cinema has succeeded in carving out a special place in Cinema Akil’s yearly programming. This year’s event is being held under the theme of Human Bonds, presenting films that have relationships and societal encounters at their core. Some of the films to be showcased during the event are Under the Fig Tree, We are Family, Heroic Bodies and My Lost Country.
