Producers of the first edition of the annual Arab Film and TV Awards (AFTVA) have announced the 25 awards categories that will honour the very best of Arab film and TV talent from around the world.
The announced award categories for the best Arab film and television talent are as follows: Best Film, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Original Music Score, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Leading Actor TV, Best Leading Actress TV, Best TV Drama Series, Best TV Soap and Continuing Drama Series, Best TV Comedy Programme, Best Factual TV Programme, Best Light Entertainment Programme, Best TV Commercial, Lifetime Achievement Award and Rising Star Award.
Four awards have been created to honour Best International Film, Best International Actor in a Leading Role, Best International Actress in a Leading Role and a Western Lifetime Achievement Award.
In addition a Humanitarian Award will be given on the night to an individual from the film and television industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry.
AFTVA will take place on the 3rd February 2015 at the Langham Hotel in Central London.
The Arab Film and TV Awards have been created to help promote, support and develop film and television talent in the MENA region and to introduce and bring Arab and Western filmmakers together whilst promoting Arab culture worldwide.
