The 2020-21 slate includes productions from different genres with the aim of catering to different age groups and audiences.
Jordan-based Arab Telemedia Group has released its 2021 and 2022 production slate, which it promises includes “groundbreaking titles” that span various genres including comedy, historical drama, sci-fi and contemporary stories.
“Arab Telemedia’s releases feature leading regional talent that audiences know and cherish, in addition to riveting scripts and stellar production. Each of the new releases additionally boasts more than one plot, with electrifying teasers and clips, all of which will be available for viewing on multiple channels and platforms,” the company stated in a release.
One of the new releases includes September’s Gold, a three-season drama series that tells the story of a female refugee’s journey through betrayal and abuse after fleeing war and corruption.
A historical series titled Talal Street and set in 1953 starts with the success of the late King Hussein bin Talal to the throne and ends with his unfortunate passing in 1999. The work deals with the social and economic development of Amman and consists of nine seasons with 10 episodes each. Muawiyah is another historical series that sheds light on the trials and tribulations of Caliph Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan. The series celebrates his achievements in building the Islamic state in its political concept, to be the last of caliphs and the first of kings.
Other releases include the 30-episode, family-oriented comedy drama titled Family of Two Floors, which tells the tale of two families who will stop at nothing for wealth and success; the Bedouin fantasy series Al-Aidarous, which focuses on female heroines and Salt Statues, a contemporary fantasy series that sheds light on existentialism through a looking glass.
“Catering to diverse audiences with unique preferences, Arab Telemedia is also working on the creation of a series of short-form programs including skits and animations that celebrate the region’s culture and beliefs,” the release added.
