Registrations of guests arriving for Arabsats eighth customer forum Atheer begin today in Marrakech, Morocco. The forum will bring together Arabsat customers from the MENA and beyond to share their experiences and to discuss the MENA broadcast industry and the future of satellite broadcasting in the region.
The programme will open on October 20 with a welcome note by Khaled Balkheyour, President and CEO of Arabsat. This will be followed by a speech by Mustapha El Khalfi, Minister of Communications and Spokesperson of the government following which Amina Lemrini, President, Higher Council of Audiovisual Communications will formally open the event.
The first presentation of the day will be on Arabsat – Our World Now! Your World in the Future. Nabil Al Shanti, Vice President and CCO of Arabsat will present Arabsats journey so far and share insights on how the satellite company plans to integrate the MENA broadcast market in its growth path.
The VIPs will be felicitated at the event and there will be special recognition and a note of appreciation for Saudi Media City. The first panel discussion of the day will be on a modern neighbourhood for the MENA at 26 degrees East. Moderated by Dr Nasser Refaat, TV Technical Services Executive at Rotana Media Group, the discussion will include speakers such as Khalid Balkheyour, CEO, Arabsat, Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO, Eshailsat, Saud Alganam, CEO, Almajd Network, Samir Safir, CEO, My-HD, David Guerra, VP Product and Content Acquisitions Trio, and Dr Raed Khusheim, CEO, Selevision.
The second panel discussion for the day will be on content development and protection. Moderated by Chris Forrester, the discussion will feature Sam Barnett, CEO of MBC, Dr Nasser Refaat, TV Technical Services Executive, Rotana Media Group, Dr Riyadh Najm, Media Expert, Jamal Eddine Naji, Director General Audio Visual Communications, Amr El-Kahky, CEO, Al Nahar TV, Nabil Al Shanti, Vice-President and CCO of Arabsat and Hanya Borham Atallah, Copyright Management Director, ART.
The programme for day one will culminate in a gala dinner and awards ceremony in the evening.
