Arabsat is organising its eighth Telecom Forum in Cyprus on February 10 and 11. The event will be addressed by Marios Demetriades, Minister of Transport, Communications and Works of Cyprus and will provide a platform for Arabsat customers, technology and service providers to share their views on latest technological trends.
Eng. Mueid Al-Zahrani, CTO of Arabsat, commented: Arabsat will be presenting its future fleet and newly launched satellite, BADR-7, to the industry at this event. The new satellite contains Ku-Band, Ka/Ku Strap and Ka- payload and provides coverage over the MENA, north west Africa, central Asia and South Africa. Arabsat will also showcase its Hellas-Sat Teleport facilities at the event.
Arabsat plans to host a live demonstration at the show using Traveltronic all-in-one systems with a Newtec Dialog Hub using ARABSAT-5A Appendix Ku-Band Space Segment. This exercise will help the satellite company to encourage the satcom industry to use Appendix Ku-Band for their VSAT, broadband and broadcast networks as this band is less prone to radio frequency interference.
