Apart from Hyperflex, Argosy will also showcase KVM solutions and Canare patch panels.
Argosy Middle East LLC will showcase its new Hyperflex at CABSAT for the first time. A new design of SMPTE camera cables and associated products for HD and Ultra HD, it is built to withstand heavy treatment such as being pulled over long distances on outside broadcasts or the constant flexing, bending and crushing on studio floors.
Unlike standard SMPTE cables, the fibres and copper are enclosed in an outer jacket made of a custom-developed polyurethane rubberised compound. According to the company, the new design provides an outstanding degree of resilience and resistance to damage. In particular, its flexible nature avoids the common problem with other SMPTE cables where voltage leaks due to slight damage to the copper conductors results in the CCU failing to connect to the camera.
As well as the cables – available in any length to suit the application – Argosy has also launched a number of Hyperflex accessories, including compact splice trays for production trucks and wall boxes.
Argosy will also showcase its kvm-tec IP-connected KVM solutions and Canare patch panels, along with fibre transport solutions and network switches. The latest generation of high-bandwidth, IP-connected KVM solutions from kvm-tec delivers secure connectivity with low latency, while linking multiple workstations to multiple computers.
Also in the spotlight will be Canare patch panels, including 12G solutions, which support Argosy customers in their transition to IP production over SMPTE 2110 and to higher resolutions of 4K and beyond. Video and audio patchbays feature Canare’s rotary switches, providing superior isolation.
Raziullah Baig – Regional Sales Manager, Argosy Middle East, said: “The Middle East market appears to be returning to strength, with a number of tenders in progress and a couple of significant projects underway, for which we have already received sizeable orders. The ability to consistently stock high volumes of our expanding product portfolio locally is a point of pride for Argosy, as it means customers can rely on us to deliver for that big last-minute job with very reduced lead times, saving them a lot of stress in the process.
“This is good news for the local market here in the UAE that is growing rapidly, with countries like Bahrain, Oman and Lebanon registering growth in the sports sector. The construction of more stadia and arenas increases the need to produce local video content. Argosy is perfectly positioned to deliver orders quickly to the region and to provide immediate assistance for such projects, through our regional office in Dubai. For the wider MENA region, the Egyptian market is buoyant, with large projects pushing ahead throughout the remainder of the year and across 2022.”
He added: “We have a strong and long-standing presence in the MENA, and our many customers know that we are much more than just cable stockists. We specialise in every aspect of media infrastructure, from cables and connectors to active hardware devices such as network switches, fibre transport and keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) switches.”
Argosy recently relocated the Dubai offices to the city’s Oudmetha area and opened a new showroom and stock facility.
As MENA moves towards 4K, Argosy’s partnerships with leading manufacturers across the media infrastructure spectrum, such as Allied Telesis, Barnfind, BES, Canare, Cliff Connectors, Draka-Prysmian, Fischer, kvm-tec, Lemo, Mellanox, Neutrik, OCC, Percon and Telegartner, are proving indispensable to the region’s content producers and broadcasters as they implement 4K technology upgrades.
