A second season is currently in development following a re-commission by Yes TV.
European cultural broadcaster Arte has secured the rights to the Israeli roommate comedy Bloody Murray (9×25′) from international distributor Yes Studios. The series will debut on Arte this week under the title Dana & Murray, marking its first run in France and Germany, approximately a year after being picked up by CBC in Canada.
Created by Stav Idisis, Bloody Murray features Naomi Levov and Rotem Sela in the lead roles.
Following its success, a second season is currently in development, reaffirming its appeal to audiences. The series, created and written by Stav Idisis, is produced by yes TV and Kastina Communications, with Yes Studios handling distribution worldwide.
The story revolves around Dana, a gynaecologist, and Murray, a film lecturer specialising in romantic comedies. Their lives take a drastic turn when Murray becomes involved in a hit-and-run accident, leading to an unexpected encounter with Lior, the victim, who later finds his way to their apartment. As Dana and Lior develop romantic feelings for each other, Murray grapples with her own emotions, leading to a comedic and heartwarming storyline.
Sharon Levi, Managing Director at Yes Studios, said: “We are pleased to have extended our relationship with Arte by concluding a deal for this entertaining comedy. With its wonderfully drawn characters, light touch, and all the feel-good fun and wit of a romcom, we expect that this delightful series will prove a big hit with Arte audiences.”
