Egyptian actor Asser Yassin will serve as a jury member in El Gouna Film Festival’s feature film competition. The festival, which is taking place from October 23 to 31 in the Red Sea resort town of El Gouna, has already confirmed 16 films participating in the competition.
Yassin has played a number of challenging roles during his career such as a drug addict in Zay El Naharda (Like Today) in 2008 and 30 Youm (30 Days), where he showed the drastic changes of his character throughout the month.
Yassin also directed a video clip of Abu’s Ahwak (I Love You) song in 2016 and the video clip for Wust El Balad song El Ekhtelaf El Motalef (Our Familiar Differences).
Yassin is also set to play the leading role in the Arabic version of the American TV show Suits. The series will be written by Mohamed Amien Rady and directed by Khaled Marie.
Last week, the film festival announced that Syrian actor Kinda Alloush has been selected as a jury member within the Short Film Competition. Eighteen films have been selected to take part in the film competition.
