AT&T Inc. and Al Jazeera have settled a lawsuit over the carriers refusal to carry the news channel. The parties have agreed to a settlement and jointly asked the judge.
The second-largest US telecom services provider refused to carry the news channel launched by Al Jazeera last August in its U-verse pay television service due to a dispute over terms of a contract.
Al Jazeera sued AT&T claiming that the latter had broken and terminated their contract.
AT&T and Al Jazeera said in court filings they were dismissing all claims and paying their own litigation expenses.
In a June 4 court filing, the companies told Delaware Chancery Court Judge Sam Glasscock they had reached a settlement in principle and anticipated they would be dismissing their claims.
