Listing as the no.1 movie in at least 54 countries, Avengers: Endgame has reportedly earned USD 1.63m at the UAE box office on Thursday and $2.17m on Friday, securing its place as the biggest opening weekend in the country, according to distributor Walt Disney Studios.
Worldwide, the film grossed $1.2bn at cinemas. It collected a record-breaking $350m in the United States and Canada, surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), which had opening-weekend sales of $270m.

The three-hour Avengers: Endgame features several Hollywood celebrities, including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin.
The Hollywood film is the final chapter in the Avengers story, which has stretched across 22 films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
