According to the multi-year strategic agreement, both companies will make significant mutual commitments and investments in technology, product development and go-to-market efforts.
Avid participated for the first time at GITEX this year and used the opportunity to announce an alliance with Microsoft. The partnership is a comprehensive, multi-year strategic agreement in which both companies will make significant mutual commitments and investments in technology, product development and go-to-market efforts.
GITEX served as the platform for the two companies to demonstrate the integration of Microsoft’s Azure cognitive services with Avid’s MediaCentral platform. Through this collaboration, the solution providers offer a more efficient end-to-end delivery of news and sports content as well as the capability to access content from any device for faster delivery.
Under the technology and product development elements of the agreement, Microsoft will invest additional resources and funding to help accelerate time-to-market for targeted cloud-based solutions and specific Azure-based cloud services for the media and entertainment industry. As part of the commercial cooperation, Avid will also offer Microsoft Azure hosting and media services exclusively as an integral part of its own portfolio of cloud-based solutions and cloud services.
