Avid has announced that Kurdistan 24 TV (K24), a 24/7 HD news, current affairs and information satellite outlet based in Erbil, Kurdistan region of Iraq, has embracedĀ Avid Everywhere by implementing a full content creation to distribution workflow powered by theĀ Avid MediaCentral Platform.
K24 plans to function in several languages to maximise its potential and service reach. To facilitate multi-lingual broadcasting, K24 needs tools to help journalists and editors deliver high-quality material and programming, and the agility to respond to new opportunities and future developments quickly and comprehensively. K24 also needs to facilitate collaboration across the entire business.
With the Middle EastĀs leading broadcasters relying on the MediaCentral Platform to ensure competitiveness and sustainable performance, K24 has turned to Avid for an integrated, end-to-end workflow, providing all the elements it needs for a successful launch and a strong, ongoing presence in the regional media landscape.
ĀBy embracing Avid Everywhere and the MediaCentral Platform, K24 has an end-to-end solution that meets its news production and broadcast needs now and into the future,Ā said Noreldin Waisy, General Manager of K24. ĀThe efficiency and simplicity of K 24Ās state-of-the-art news infrastructure will enable its journalists to focus on finding and covering the most important stories.Ā
K24 has embraced Avid Everywhere by implementing a workflow powered by the MediaCentral Platform to provide all the tools it needs to create high-quality content. It has chosen Avid Media Suite, Storage Suite and Artist Suite solutions, covering the entire process of media production, from acquisition and ingest, through storage and editing, all the way to archiving and distribution. These include MediaCentral | UX, iNEWS, Media | Director, Interplay | Production, Interplay Capture, and Interplay | Archive from the Media Suite, alongside ISIS 7000 from the Storage Suite, and Media Composer | Software and Media Composer | NewsCutter Option from the Artist Suite.
K24 is set to launch in June 2015.
K24 will provide in-depth and up-to-the-minute reporting on issues concerning Kurdistan and its diverse population. It aims to provide the regionĀs population and other interested parties with an independent look at Kurdish society, and in the process, serve the wellbeing of the Kurdish population.
ĀK-24 wanted a robust solution enabling them to make a difference in the way the news was delivered to the Kurdish people. Due to political complexities in the region, K-24 needed a solution that gave flexibility and mobility to their journalists on the ground to deliver news as soon as it happens. That is why an Avid partnership was key in securing that requirement especially with AvidĀs multilingual support in iNEWS and the unified user interface for news and media.Ā said Mounzer Bechara, Avid General Manager, Middle East.
