The solution provided by Pebble included enterprise automation controlling both Pebble Integrated playout channels and third-party server, mixer, and routing devices in a single integrated system.
Pebble has announced a significant milestone as Bahrain TV, a longstanding client, transitions its Pebble Neptune system to the latest generation of Pebble enterprise-level automation, enabling robust multi-channel delivery capabilities.
Bahrain TV, the television arm of the Ministry of Information (MI) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, serves as the nation’s primary public broadcaster, headquartered in Manama, the capital city. Collaborating with systems integrator First Gulf Company (FGC) based in Saudi Arabia, the Pebble team executed the migration of legacy Pebble systems at Bahrain TV to their latest solution, leveraging ST-2110 technology to ensure optimal readiness for the IP-based broadcasting future.
The newly deployed solution revolves around Pebble’s enterprise automation, which oversees both Pebble Integrated playout channels and third-party server, mixer, and routing devices within a unified system. This comprehensive setup facilitates the simultaneous playout of six channels, managing 6 Main and 6 Protect server ports, 6 Mixers, and 6 CGs. Furthermore, the ingest functionality can handle six concurrent feeds per server, enabling parallel ingest to main and backup servers. The solution also encompasses playlist preparation tools, preview lists with Junction preview capabilities, and automated media movement, facilitating seamless file transfers between video servers, nearline storage, and the LTO Archive.
Eng. Abdulla Ahmed Al Balooshi, Assistant Undersecretary of Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Kingdom of Bahrain, said: “We are delighted to be installing the very latest generation of Pebble solutions at Bahrain TV, ensuring it remains one of the flagship installations for us in the region.”
Pebble emphasised the inevitability of IP integration, and noted: “IP is coming, here as elsewhere in the world, and the ST-2110 capabilities that Bahrain TV have specified will make sure it can adapt and evolve its services to the Bahraini people over the coming years.”
