The first series will begin on BBC One on December 4, with all 15 episodes arriving on BBC iPlayer.
The BBC has acquired the UK premiere of Warner Bros Television’s superhero drama Superman & Lois.
Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as DC’s most famous superhero, Clark Kent, and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane.
After years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the series sees the pair come face-to-face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
Sue Deeks, Head of Programme Acquisition at BBC, said: “Superman & Lois is an ambitious and involving new superhero series – one we are sure will intrigue and excite not just existing fans, but BBC viewers of all ages.”
The first series will begin on BBC One on December 4, with all 15 episodes arriving on BBC iPlayer on the same day. Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman & Lois was developed by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Batwoman) and Todd Helbing (The Flash), who executive produce alongside Sarah Schechter (All American, Riverdale), David Madden (You, Kung Fu) Geoff Johns (Titans, DC’s Stargirl). The DC series is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
