BBC Studios has announced the appointment of Rose Hughes as its new Senior Vice President of Global Format Sales. Hughes will lead the Global Format Sales team and oversee the sales strategy for both unscripted and scripted formats, reporting directly to Jacob de Boer, EVP of Global Entertainment. This marks a return to BBC Studios for Hughes, who previously served as Senior Sales Executive, Formats Licensing for the Nordics and Benelux.
With 15 years of experience in TV distribution, Hughes brings expertise across various genres. She joins BBC Studios from Seven One Studios, where she held the position of VP of Sales, working alongside acclaimed producers such as Snowman and CPL. Additionally, Hughes played a key role in reviving Married at First Sight New Zealand and facilitated a CBS pilot adaptation of the German scripted format Einstein. She also spearheaded brand partnerships, including an AVOD and FAST deal with Nine Australia featuring over 900 hours of Married at First Sight content.
Prior to her role at Seven One, Hughes served as VP of Finished Programmes, Formats, Co-Productions, and Pre-Buys at Keshet International, where she managed sales strategies across Digital, Scandinavia, the UK, the US and Canada.

Hughes will assume her new role in February 2025.
