BBC Studios recently expanded its partnership with MultiChoice, with the launch BBC UKTV on DStv’s compact package and BBC Lifestyle on DStv Family.
BBC Studios in Africa has announced that its diverse multi-genre channel, BBC UKTV, has attracted a record of over 12.9m viewers in Africa. Since its debut on DStv in December 2022, viewership has surged by 135%, accompanied by a remarkable 99% increase in channel share across all demographics.
BBC UKTV presents an eclectic array of programming catering to audiences of all ages, spanning from Lifestyle shows like 10 Years Younger to beloved soaps such as Eastenders, Doctors, and Casualty. The channel also offers entertainment with shows like Total Wipeout: Freddie & Paddy Takeover, dramas including The Mallorca Files, Call the Midwife, and Shakespeare and Hathaway, along with engaging factual series such as Life Below Zero.
Since its inception, BBC UKTV has consistently captured the attention of viewers with its carefully curated schedule. Standout programmes like Secrets of the Supercars, Come Dine With Me, Bake-Off Crème de la Crème, The Musketeers, and The Great South African Bake-Off have emerged as crowd favourites, dominating the airwaves.
