The new campaign will see Spain’s top league continue to be broadcast exclusively on beIN Sports for 25 consecutive seasons across 23 MENA markets.
BeIN Media Group has extended its broadcast rights for LaLiga, ensuring that beIN Sports will continue to serve as the premier destination for Spanish football in 34 markets across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions. The new agreements will keep LaLiga on beIN Sports until the end of the 2027-28 season in MENA and the 2026-27 season in APAC.
Having held the LaLiga broadcast rights in MENA since 2003 and in APAC since 2015, beIN will now continue its exclusive coverage of Spain’s top football league for 25 consecutive seasons in 23 MENA countries. The expanded deal will also bring LaLiga back to beIN in Australia and New Zealand, offering coverage of all 380 league matches.
Commenting on the deal, Yousef Al-Obaidly, Group CEO of BeIN Media Group, said: “We are delighted to extend our contract with LaLiga with two significant multi-year deals across 34 countries. As long-term, committed partners of LaLiga, we are proud to help Spanish football grow worldwide through our world-class broadcasting and our significant and dependable investment. This major deal is further testament to beIN’s considered and consistent strategy to deliver growth as one of the leading sports, entertainment and media groups in the world.”
Javier Tebas, President of LaLiga, added: “At LaLiga we always look for best-in-class partners to deliver Spanish football to fans everywhere. Our relationship with beIN has been essential for us in order to ensure people in MENA and APAC regions to be able to enjoy a unique competition as LaLiga to the fullest. We are sure that the next seasons are going to be unparalleled ones for our fans across the region.”
As the new season kicks off on August 15 with a full slate of 10 matches, attention will be on key storylines, including Real Madrid’s integration of superstar Kylian Mbappé, FC Barcelona’s adaptation under new coach Hansi Flick and Girona’s historic debut in the UEFA Champions League.
Among the 380 games, two highly anticipated El Clasico matches will see Real Madrid face off against their arch-rivals, FC Barcelona. LaLiga’s roster of top-tier talent also includes players like Jude Bellingham, Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Martin Zubimendi.
The exclusive broadcast rights cover a wide range of countries, including Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, beIN will share LaLiga broadcasting rights in Iraq with the regional platform 1001.
Audiovisual piracy poses a significant threat to the growth of the audiovisual industry and the sports ecosystem, inflicting severe damage on clubs, organisations and broadcasters alike.
To address this issue, LaLiga and beIN have launched collaborative efforts to combat piracy, including legal actions in Morocco to block illegal streaming websites and in Bahrain to dismantle an unlawful IPTV service. In addition, they have implemented periodic administrative measures in Indonesia and Malaysia, working with other rights holders to curb unauthorised access.
The two organisations maintain ongoing communication to report and deactivate illegal decoders used in Spain’s HORECA sector (hotels, restaurants and cafeterias), where contracts from other countries are exploited.
LaLiga and beIN’s Anti-Piracy teams are closely aligned, sharing intelligence on piracy targets, monitoring new copyright regulations, and tracking emerging piracy trends. They are also developing a joint initiative to tackle hosting services that refuse to comply with takedown requests, known as bulletproof hosting.
