Within the territory, beIN Neo will distrtibute the show in Arabic, English and French on free-to-air, pay-TV and VoD platforms.
BeIN Media Group has acquired distribution rights for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to the live-action pre-school series Saïd & Anna, which has earned a nomination for this year’s Banff World Media Festival’s Rockie Awards, according to a report by Variety.
Incredible Film, the Dutch sales agent, has finalised a MENA distribution deal with BeIN Neo, a unit of BeIN Media Group, for the acclaimed show. Saïd & Anna, which celebrates children’s autonomy and premiered last year at Mip Junior, will now be accessible across MENA in Arabic, English, and French on free-to-air, pay-TV, and VOD platforms.
The series is a co-production between three European public broadcasters: EO/NPO Zappelin from the Netherlands, SWR/Kika from Germany, and VRT/Ketnet from Belgium.
Saïd & Anna revolves around the adventures of best friends Saïd, aged 6, and Anna, aged 7, who spend their days in a shop offering various repair services. Beyond showcasing friendship and children’s independence, the show delves into themes of sustainability and diversity, boasting a distinctive style and cinematic quality. Its underlying premise, “Everything and everyone deserves a second chance. Nothing is beyond repair,” resonates throughout the series.
As part of the MENA deal, beIN Neo will also handle distribution across the region for other projects from Incredible Film’s kids’ slate, including the feature film A Most Annoying Island (1×75’) and animated short-form series Pim & Pom at the Museum (23×5’).
