The new five-year partnership extension with Tennis Australia will see Southern Hemisphere’s only Grand Slam, from qualifying to finals, broadcast live and exclusive on beIN Sports.
BeIN Media Group has announced an exclusive media rights extension to broadcast the Australian Open across 24 countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through 2029. The renewal solidifies beIN Sports as the region’s premier destination for tennis coverage.
This multi-year agreement builds on a partnership with Tennis Australia, which began in 2018 with a seven-year deal. The new contract will commence with the 2025 tournament, scheduled from January 12 to 26, and continue for the subsequent four editions of the Grand Slam.
Tennis enthusiasts in the MENA region will continue to enjoy comprehensive coverage of the season-opening Grand Slam on beIN Sports. This includes lead-in events and qualifying rounds managed by Tennis Australia. The renewed deal also enhances access to all 15 match courts and introduces 4K broadcasts from the iconic Rod Laver Arena.
Mohammad Al-Subaie, CEO of beIN MENA, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Australian Open to 2029. BeIN’s coverage of the Southern Hemisphere’s only Grand Slam dates back to 2005 and this milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing our viewers the best of international tennis. We look forward to delivering five more years of high-stakes competition, incredible performances, and unforgettable moments from the sport’s top-ranked players, ensuring our subscribers enjoy the very best of this iconic tournament.”
Cedric Cornelis, Tennis Australia Chief Commercial Officer, added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with beIN, a long-term valued broadcast partner of the Australian Open. This extension means the Australian Open will continue to find new audiences globally and that beIN subscribers can enjoy watching tennis in its most exciting form.”
BeIN Sports has been a consistent hub for tennis fans, offering coverage of all four Grand Slam tournaments, including Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open, alongside ATP events.
Held annually at Melbourne Park in Victoria, the Australian Open is renowned as the most-attended Grand Slam event, attracting over 1.1m spectators during the 2024 edition, including its qualifying rounds.
