BeIN’s social media platforms mirror on-air success with cumulative online video views reaching a record breaking 1.1bn and a total of 2.6bn impressions recorded during EURO 2024.
BeIN Sports has achieved a new milestone with its multilingual coverage of the UEFA European Championships (EURO 2024) in Germany, reaching a cumulative viewership of over 1.2bn. This represents a 27% increase compared to the 0.96bn views garnered for EURO 2020.
The tournament’s final, where Spain defeated England 2-1 to win their fourth continental title, attracted over 95.2m viewers, making it the most-watched game of the event. In comparison, the EURO 2020 final between Italy and England had 64.4m viewers, marking a nearly 50% rise this year.
The semi-finals also drew significant audiences, with 54.1m viewers watching Spain’s Lamine Yamal become the youngest goal-scorer in the competition’s history against France. Additionally, 54.4m tuned in to see England’s Ollie Watkins secure a dramatic stoppage-time victory over the Netherlands. On average, each match of EURO 2024 was watched by 23.8m viewers, exceeding the EURO 2020 average by over 5m.
BeIN’s digital coverage, which included minute-by-minute updates, post-match highlights, interviews, and special studio segments, achieved record social media engagement. The total cumulative impressions across its social media channels reached 2.6bn, a 261.8% increase from 718m in 2020. Cumulative video views soared by 518%, from 178m in 2020 to 1.1bn during the 2024 tournament.
