Escalating Covid-19 concerns within Amsterdam compelled the event organiser to take this decision.
IBC has announced that its in-person showcase and event in Amsterdam has been cancelled.
The move follows growing concerns about the COVID-19 situation in The Netherlands, which has deteriorated over the past week, and feedback from the IBC exhibitor and visitor community.
The IBC Partnership Board made the decision today in order to prevent exhibitors and visitors from travelling to The Netherlands.
Due to take place on December 3-6 at The RAI in Amsterdam, IBC20201 will now focus on bringing the content and technology community together via IBC Digital.
In a mail to all exhibitors, Steve Connolly, Sales Director at IBC added: “IBC2021 will now take place on IBC Digital and will include its AI-based exhibitor platform that allows exhibitors to show their latest products and innovations plus a comprehensive content programme, and the opportunity to meet and connect with the industry. From our many conversations, it is clear the industry can’t wait to get back to business and we are committed to delivering an engaging and safe in-person IBC in 2022.”
